FAQ's

Yes! We carry a large range of spare parts that are common to wear out and need replacement.

This includes brake linings, magnets, bearings and everything in between..

Magnets don’t wear evenly. They almost always groove the magnet surface on the drum meaning a new magnet isn’t any good on the old surface.

Option 1: Leaving your caravan on axle stands and taking away your brake drums to be machined to accept a new magnet

Option 2: We organise brand new brake drums for replacement.

Every 10,000km or before every large trip. This gives us the best chance of catching anything suspect. We all go on holidays for a good time, so minimising the chances of a bearing collapse, brake or suspension failure is a good thing! We understand things can happen to even the most fastidiously serviced vehicle, but minimising the risk is always best practice.

Caravan bearings don’t ride on a refined coil suspension. They generally carry more weight per axle, see heavier side loading with a caravans height and lean, sit still for long periods between holiday seasons and are far from oversized for the job at hand.

The most common bearing used in caravans is ‘Ford Falcon’ front hub bearings. A single axle caravan running these bearings see them under quite a stressful load. Tandem axle bearings see even more work as they are constantly being put under load when cornering – in the car they are steering into the corner, these are dragged.

It’s also very difficult to feel early signs of wear or fatigue from the bearings unlike a car. This makes it very important to have your bearings serviced – removed from hub, washed and thoroughly inspected to look for signs of wear.

We carry common undercarriage spare parts and not much else. A caravan has so many parts it’s impossible to carry everything. If you have a broken part and need it replaced, we urge you to source it from your dealer or an accessory store and have it there for us to fit. Larger accessories such as awnings we supply and fit.

Sorry, usually no. Being a unique service keeps us very very busy. Our lead times vary from 4-12 weeks depending on the season. It’s always best to book well ahead if you can.

We are based in Pakenham, Victoria – and we travel the Eastern and South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. We are also known to travel down the Mornington Peninsula at times. It’s best to book in advance as we work in areas when we have a few jobs close together to minimise travel.

Please have your caravan cover off and RV on level firm ground – if you can’t get it reasonably level then having your vehicle attached is great. We need access down each side (1 meter is enough), a safe working environment (not on the road or busy street), and that’s it! We are battery/petrol powered and completely self-sufficient.

Yes, absolutely! We have customers from all over Victoria who bring their caravan to our facility in Clyde, Victoria for service.

Sadly no. You need separate licensing to undertake any appliance repairs. Toilets carry an array of parts we don’t stock and we don’t pretend to be experts in their operation. It’s best to look in your owners manuals for service agent listings.
